Roger's Pawn, Music and Jewelry was opened in 1981 by Roger McDowell on 1st Street in downtown Fort Payne, Alabama. In 1986, Roger relocated to a two story building formally known as Black's Dress Shop, on Gault Avenue, which is our present location. This new location allowed Roger's to expand their selection of merchandise and services. Here at Roger's we are a pawn shop, we buy scrap gold, sell new and used musical instruments and accessories, jewelry repair, in store guitar repair and setup. We also offer in store music lessons.
We carry a full line of new jewelry for men and women. In addition, we have a good selection of previously owned jewelry that offers the customers a variety of styles at affordable prices. We carry a wide variety of jewelry including: Masonic rings, pendants, 10kt and 14kt chains, bracelets, pearls, earrings and a large selection of wedding bands and engagement rings.
The music selection is STOCKED at Roger's. We are a Marquee Martin Guitar Dealer with over 20 different models in stock including limited and special editions. We also offer other lines such as Yamaha, Washburn, Warwick, Peavey, BC Rich and Deering Banjos. We carry a large selection of Acoustic, Electric and Bass Guitars, as well as, Yamaha and Casio Keyboards. We carry full drum sets along with a large selection of amps by Randall, Peavey and Warwick. We have all the musical accessories you will need. This includes picks, guitar straps, microphones, tuners, cables, music books and lots, lots more.
On November 12, 2007, Roger McDowell lost his 3 year battle with cancer. Since his passing his wife, Caroline, has continued to carry on the tradition at Roger's of a good selection merchandise at affordable prices and great customer service. Our Store Manager is Dan Patterson. Our sales staff includes Marie Patterson, Diane Martin, Caleb Roberts and Jack Martin our guitar repair tech.
